New Functionality August 2021
Learning Zone Home Page
The Learning Zone Homepage has been restructured to improve navigation. This has been achieved by reducing the content displayed on this page. As part of this change students will access any class work set via the link at the bottom of the page or left menu.
Details regarding new course options will remain on the page for a period of familiarisation. A click on any icon will produce a pop up with a brief explanation. There is also a link to these help pages in the page header.

How it looks – Students
Students can import documents. There is a limit on file size but not on the number of documents. It is envisaged that some students may decide to import scans or images of class and homework documents.
Each unit provides access a range of new options. The main part of this is that a filing system now supports document management. The focus of this is a dedicated folder. The aim is that this holds and provides information that relates to the specific unit. The aim of this is to effectively segment documents so that there is less chance that documents become mixed up. It also means that access to all exercises in the same place (digital and paper based) will have positive benefits for students.
Students will also have access to:
- A notes page (pdf form) can be used for keyed and dictated notes which can be saved and imported into the unit folder. Students can also use this or any other document or handwritten notes and can save any such paper item as an image and import into their unit holder.
- Over time information documents summarising key content will become available. These will be provided by EzyEducation and available for students to use.
- Students will eventually have access to a worksheet that aims to support class and independent activities. Teachers can export and save these exercises to school platforms. Students will be able to use these independently.
- Detailed answer sheets will provide support for these activities. These can be used for marking and will also provide invaluable summaries of the content within each unit. These can be shared with students via a teacher class share or by posting on the school platform.
How it looks – Teachers
Teachers will see and have access to any of the documents which students have access to (Note, information and work sheets).
Where available, teachers will also have access to answer sheets. These can be shared with students via the teacher share option or via school platforms.
How students add and review documents
Add your own teaching resources
The teacher share option allows documents to be imported at class level. Documents will appear in each class member's folder as soon as import completes.
Documents can cover question sheets, answer sheets or general information. If documents are needed in other units a separate import will be necessary.
Teachers can delete any document they have personally imported.
If teachers wish to use centralised file stores on the school platform it is best to upload a single file holding urls to relevant folders. Mid term we would hope to provide an option to add urls to the unit.

Student tip - Right click to open pages in new windows
It is easy to get in a mess when lots of windows are open. The best way to resolve this is to get to know "Split Screen View". Easy to work with if you take the time to use the simple support provided by Apple and Microsoft.
